1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Main Auditorium - Lobby, L63
The American Whistleblower Tour: Essential Voices for Accountability is a new educational campaign to educate the public - particularly college students, the country's incoming workforce - about the phenomenon of whistleblowing. Centered around stops at universities across the country, the Tour seeks to:
- Raise awareness about the vital role that whistleblowing has in our democracy in fighting institutional corruption and wrongdoing, and promote research, as well as
- Offer guidance to students and faculty on how to understand and respond to ethical dilemmas in the workplace.
Frank Serpico will be accompanied by Tom Devine, Esq. the legal director of the Government Accountability Project ("GAP'), the nonprofit organization, founded in 1977, that organizes the American Whistleblower Tour. GAP's mission is to promote corporate and government accountability by protecting whistleblowers, advancing occupational free speech and empowering citizen activists.
