Event Description:

The stories of twelve very different patients of Bellevue Hospital bring vibrant and relatable life to contemporary issues of public health, criminal justice, and immigration, among many others.  Dr. Manheimer's book offers unflinching glimpses into the lives of the sick, while indicting the cultural, social, and institutional forces that have contributed to their conditions.

On Tuesday, April 23rd please join author and former Bellevue Hospital medical director Dr. Eric Manheimer for a public reading and discussion of Twelve Patients, its sources and inspirations, and the insights it holds for the John Jay Community.

The Public Lecture will take place from 4-5:30pm in Room L63NB (New Building). There will also be an Invited Lecture for Faculty and PhD students from 12:30-2pm in Room 636T.
