Subject: A Message from DoIT: Daylight Savings Time
Starting this year, Daylight Saving Time (DST) will begin earlier (March 11), and end later (November 4). Currently, computer systems are set up to automatically change to DST based on the dates determined each year according to an algorithm. In order to have the new dates applied, a software patch must be installed on all computers and servers. Most desktops on campus, about 95%, are already configured to perform this upgrade. However, patches and upgrades are only applied when desktops are shut down and restarted. It is recommended that you restart your computer before the weekend of March 10 th. For those users whose desktops are not set up to apply patches, you will notice that your time is incorrect upon returning to the College on Monday March 12. Please call the Helpdesk at x8200 to have a technician upgrade your machine.
Thank you for your cooperation.
