RE:            Migration Deadline for Faculty and Staff Email

Last year during the fall semester Department of Information Technology (DoIT) embarked on a challenging project to migrate all faculty and staff email accounts from our exiting iPlanet system to the new Microsoft Exchange 2007 email system.

The project has moved along smoothly so far and we have migrated over 1,600 email accounts out of approximately 2,400 email accounts. Many of DoIT staff members have worked hard to make this project happen. Also, many of DoIT’s resources have been consumed just for this project. In order to finish this project on time DoIT will migrate remaining 800 accounts by June 15, 2008. This will entail discontinuation of the existing iPlanet system on that day.

DoIT staff will be reaching out to those who have not yet been migrated so that we can expedite the migration process. Once the migration process is completed DoIT resources will be freed up to undertake other important projects to improve the level of service DoIT provides to the College community.
