A
Brief Introduction
With this relaunching of John Jay in the Media, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to
you. As the new Director of Media Relations, it's my job to make sure this
email is full of stories that include John Jay students, professors, and
staff sharing their insight, expertise, and research.
In addition, I am here to improve communication with
reporters. If you are approached by media and asked to speak about the
College, please contact me immediately at rrelkin@jjay.cuny.edu, 212-237-8645 or on my cell (text or voice) at 646-369-8988.
It's important to note that my job is more than just
responding to media requests. I want to tell your stories on your terms and
welcome all 'pitches' to tell me what you are doing. We can talk it over,
find the hook and decide where, when, and how best to tell your story.
I have reached out to some of you already and hope to
meet many of you in person in the near future, not just via email and
phone.
Going forward, we plan to share John Jay in the Media on a regular basis.
Thank you,
Richard Relkin
Director of Media Relations
