The Acts of Justice Community Service

The 50th Anniversary provides an opportunity to launch Acts of Justice, a college-wide initiative, geared towards creating a culture of civic engagement and community building at John Jay. Acts of Justice will encourage members of the John Jay community to participate in acts of service both on campus and in their own communities. As Fierce Advocates for Justice, we are poised to set an example for the surrounding neighborhoods. Please visit the 50th anniversary website to learn more about upcoming events and how to get involved.

SeptemberWOW Service Week – Stop Hunger Now
The Stop Hunger Now program as part of the 50th Anniversary Acts of Justice and in commemoration of 9/11 Day of Service will allow the John Jay community to pack 10,000 meals for areas of need around the world. “Stop Hunger Now” has perfected the assembly process that combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets. 100 students, staff and faculty will package 10,000 meals in approximately two hours during Community Hour on September 10.
