The specified room rates quoted above are non-commissionable, net rates, subject to federal, state local taxes, which are currently 14.75%. Rates are subject to the following current charges, all subject to change: 8.875% New York City sales tax. 5.875% New York State hotel tax, a $2.00 New York City occupancy per room per night tax and a $1.50 New York State per room per night occupancy tax. Should additional taxes be imposed, they shall be due in addition to those stated herein.

It is important that attendees contact the Hotel by March 9, 2015 and identify themselves as part of the Group (Latina/o Utopias Conference at John Jay College), and provide Hotel with name, requested type of room, check-in and check-out dates and VIP status. Any requests for special room arrangements must be made at the time of this call, but such requests are not guaranteed by Hotel. The Hotel does not confirm reservations to individual attendees in writing.  Reservation requests received after March 9, 2015 will be accepted on a space available basis and Hotel will offer either the contracted group rate or the best possible discounted room rate depending on when the request is received.

When reservations are made, Hotel requires a deposit equal to the room rate and taxes for the first night for each reservation. An individual’s deposit is refundable to that individual if the Hotel receives notice of an individual’s cancellation at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to scheduled arrival. Upon check-in, each attendee will be required to present a valid credit card, on which an amount of sufficient pre-authorization can be obtained to cover the room and tax charges for the length of the attendee’s stay, plus the anticipated use of the Hotel’s ancillary services, and Hotel requires each attendee’s home/business address.

Steps for online reservations:
1) When the link is clicked, the screen you are brought to will say "Check Availability"
2) Once that is clicked, it will redirect to you to Hudson’s homepage with a calendar
3) Select the CONTRACTED dates, any days between 4/22-4/25 (any dates selected outside of what is contracted will prompt an error message saying you can not book)
4) Once the dates are selected, the rates will populate on the left side of screen, double click the room type you wish to book and follow the onscreen instructions.

The closest subway stop to John Jay College and the Hudson Hotel is at 59th St. Columbus Circle. Take #1, A, B, C, or D to 59th Street & Columbus Circle, walk west to 59th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. -OR- Take N, R, Q to 57th Street & 7th Avenue, walk west to 59th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.

If you are arriving at JFK, LaGuardia, or New Jersey’s Newark International Airport, taxis are the simplest means of transportation to the John Jay campus. However, they are also the most expensive: $45 (plus tip) from JFK, $55 (plus tip) from Newark, and $25 (plus tip) from LaGuardia.

An alternative and economical route would be to take an airport shuttle from JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark airports to the Port Authority Bus Terminal or Penn Station for approximately $25 round trip (rates vary, please see links below). From Port Authority or Penn Station, you can then reach John Jay College by subway (fare: $2.25), a taxi (approximately $10-12 from Port Authority to John Jay College), the bus (from Port Authority, take the M11 going uptown, located at West 43rd St. and 10th Ave.: fare: $2.25) or walk (2 long blocks and 17 short blocks; walking time: approx. 20 minutes).

Coming from Penn Station (34th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenue):

Three options

1) Walk to the 8th Avenue Subway (blue circles on the signs); take any Uptown train except the E train to 59 St. The C is on one platform, the A is on a different platform, so you have to pick one.

2) Walk to the 7th Avenue Subway (red circles on the signs); take an uptown #1 train to 59 St.

3) Upstairs on 8th Avenue itself (one way northbound) take an M10 or M20 bus (the "M" means "Manhattan", so almost every bus has an M in front of the number). Get off at 58 St. or 59 St.

Coming from the Port Authority (42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenue): By Subway Take #1, 9, A, B, C, D to 59th Street & Columbus Circle - walk west to Tenth Avenue between 58th & 59th Streets
