The center provides students with intensive instruction in math and statistics.  Tutoring is available to current John Jay students enrolled in any of the following: - MATH100, 103, MAT 104, 105, 108 and STA250. The 24-Hour Math Tutoring Program is available during the semester to students that are nearing 60 credits.
Basic Skills Program

The program provides students with intensive instruction and tutoring in reading, writing, and math.  The CUNY Basic Skills Program is open to all students who have not passed one or more of the CUNY Proficiency/ACT exams.
Writing Center

The primary function of the center is to help all undergraduate and graduate students learn to write papers for all courses across the curriculum.  The Center offers one-to-one tutorials, computer assisted tutoring and many skills and content oriented workshops.  The Center specializes in preparing students for the CPE and the writing portion of the CUNY Placement Exam. Open to all students except those who the College requires to attend other labs.  The center also offers special help to English-as-a-second Language students who have completed English 131 and are in mainstream  higher level courses.
Reading and Study Skills Center

The Center is available to all John Jay students who are having difficulty with reading comprehension, study skills, and/or time management.  Problems with reading are diagnosed via appointment by a qualified reading laboratory technician. The Reading and Study Skills Center is open to students enrolled in Communications 101/102, who have been referred by a professor or who are self-referred.  The center is also available to other John Jay students who are experiencing difficulties.
Tutoring Services for Students with Disabilities

Small group or one-to-one tutoring is available in English, Mathematics, and in other subject areas as need arises. Students with documented disabilities are eligible for these services.

The center offers ESL writing tutorials, grammar tutorials, computer assisted language learning, small group tutoring, ESL internet access and coached library searches. Services are available to students whose native language is not English and/or students who are enrolled in English 121/131.

SEEK Tutoring Program

The SEEK Tutoring Center provides tutoring in reading, writing, and mathematics.  Tutoring is also provided in any course which students are enrolled.  The center also offers a number of thematic and proficiency examination workshops to help students strengthen their skills to pass the University Wide Assessments Test. The Center only provides services for SEEK students.
