WATCH Professor John Gutiérrez Discuss the Presidential Election on Univision 41

Professor John Gutiérrez in the Department of Latin American and Latina/o Studies serves as a political analyst for Univision 41-New York and will provide post-debate analysis for three presidential debates. He will appear on Al Despertar, Univision’s local morning show, to discuss the previous night’s debate. On election night, he will provide analysis and commentary for Univision’s Noticias a las 11:00 as well as the morning after the election on Al Despertar.

Professor Gutierrez’s academic research focuses on the history of Cuba and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean during the 20th Century.  He has worked in the non-profit sector and as a political consultant   on campaigns ranging from the New York City Council to the New York State Legislature, from the New York City’s Mayoral races of 2005 and 2009 to the New York State Gubernatorial election of 2006.
