Charles Strozier is a professor of history at John Jay and the Graduate Center, City University of New York as well as the Director of the John Jay Center on Terrorism. He is also a practicing psychoanalyst and a training and supervising psychoanalyst at TRISP in New York. Much of his work has focused on apocalyptic violence and related issues of terrorism, including his book, Until the Fires Stopped Burning: 9/11 and New York City (Columbia University Press, August, 2011). He is also the author of Apocalypse: On the Psychology of Fundamentalism in America (Beacon, 1994, newly issued 2002); The Fundamentalist Mindset: Psychological Essays on Religion, Violence, and History (Oxford, 2010) with Terman, Jones and Boyd; and co-editor (with Michael Flynn) of Genocide, War, and Human Survival (1996); among many other works.
