Two John Jay Faculty Members Featured in The New York Times’s “Room for Debate”

Professor Delores Jones-Brown, Director of the John Jay College Center on Race, Crime and Justice and Professor Maria Haberfeld, chairperson, both in the Department of Law, Police Science and Criminal Justice were featured in The New York Times’s “Room for Debate” in the Opinion Pages. They impart insight and analysis, gleaned from extensive professional experience, research and accomplishments, to answer the question: “How can the next mayor move beyond the stop-and-frisk controversy and set priorities for criminal justice in the city?”

Professor Delores Jones-Brown is a former New Jersey prosecutor and Professor Maria Haberfeld served in the Israel Defense Forces in a counter-terrorist unit as a sergeant. In addition, she served in the Israel National Police and worked as a special consultant for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
