Professor Evan Mandery’s New Book “A Wild Justice” Featured on WNYC’s Leonard Lopate Show and The New York Times

Evan Mandery, chair and professor of the Department of Criminal Justice at John Jay, was recently interviewed on WNYC Radio’s The Leonard Lopate Show
about his new book A Wild Justice: The Death and Resurrection of Capital Punishment in America. The book is a behind-the-scenes look at the Supreme Court and constitutionality of capital punishment via two seminal Supreme Court cases, Furman v. Georgia and Gregg v. Georgia . A Wild Justice was also featured in a New York Times editorial about the work of Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg and his law clerk, Alan Dershowitz, to develop a compelling legal argument against the death penalty. Mandery, a former capital litigator, is the author of fifteen law review articles on the subject and a textbook currently in its second edition. He is an expert on the death penalty and has also written three novels.
