John Jay Alumni Win Primary Election Bids

John Jay alumni Kenneth Thompson (BA ’89), Scott Stringer (BA ’86) and Eric Adams (BA ’98)won their primary election races on the September 10. Thompson won the Democratic primary for Kings County District Attorney, Stringer won the Democratic primary for New York City Comptroller and Adams ran unopposed for Brooklyn Borough President.

Thompson, a trial lawyer, is a founding partner of Thompson Wigdor LLP and a former federal prosecutor. Prior to being elected Borough President in 2006, Stringer served for 13 years in the New York State Assembly representing Manhattan's Upper West Side.

Following a 22-year career in the New York City Police Department, Adams was elected to the New York State Senate in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008. Adams represents the 20th Senatorial District in Brooklyn.
