Professor Mandery Discusses Death Penalty on NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’
Professor Evan Mandery, author of the new book A Wild Justice: The Death and Resurrection of Capital Punishment in America, discussed the critically praised work on the NPR program “Fresh Air” on September 19.
Mandery, chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and a former capital defense attorney, looks at the 1972 Supreme Court decision in Furman v. Georgia that struck down the death penalty, and the case law that would follow it.
