Professor Gulinello Receives the 2013 ASIS International Presidential Award of Merit

Joseph J. Gulinello, Adjunct Professor of the Security, Fire and Emergency Management Department, received the 2013 ASIS International Presidential Award of Merit. The award was presented by President Geoffrey Craighead on September 24 at the networking luncheon of the Annual Conference in Chicago. The conference was attended by more than 25,000 security professionals representing more than 100 countries throughout the world.

President Craighead said the following comments, “Joseph J. Gulinello is being honored for his unwavering volunteer service with the ASIS Councils since 1997. Gulinello was tapped as a Council Vice President in 2006. In that role, he has provided insightful leadership to the council structure.” For the last three years, he has served as the Senior Council Vice President.

Joseph J. Gulinello has held executive and senior security management positions with the NYC Health and Hospitals Corp, Integrated Security Solutions Inc., Securitas USA, Interfaith Health, and Loews Corp. He is a retired NYPD detective, and served in Emergency Service and Crime Scene units. He is a retired USAR lieutenant colonel, and served in command and staff positions including the military police command.
