Professor Lisandro Pérez and chair of the Department of Latin American and Latina/o Studies was quoted in the Miami Herald article titled, “Tiger Mom Amy Chua Roars with New Controversial Book About ‘America’s Elite,’” by Glenn Garvin.  The article is a review of the contentious new book The Triple Package: How Three Unlikely Traits Explain the Rise and Fall of Cultural Groups in America, by Amy Chua and Jeb Rubenfeld. The book discusses the cultural aspects of Cuban-Americans in the U.S.
