Professor Jeffrey Kroessler Op-Eds on Landmark Preservation Published in New York Daily News & New York Observer

Associate Professor Jeffrey Kroessler, head of circulation, reference and instruction for the Lloyd George Sealy Library at John Jay, published “The Historic Districts Council Says the City's Historic Districts are Not to Blame for the Shortage of Affordable Housing,” in the New York Daily News and “Preservation Pays! REBNY’S Campaign Against Landmark Protection Is Misguided,” in the New York Observer.

Both pieces discuss the irrelevancy of the Real Estate Board of New York’s claim that the preservation of New York City’s historical neighborhoods is responsible for the city’s shortage of affordable housing. Professor Kroessler is a member of the Board of Directors of the Historic Districts Council.
