President Travis’s NPR Interview Focuses on Children of Incarcerated Parents

John Jay President Jeremy Travis was a featured commentator in a June 8 segment on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” about how the lives of children are affected when a parent is incarcerated.

President Travis was interviewed in his capacity as a co-author of a recent National Academy of Sciences report on the growth of incarceration in the United States. He noted that the number of children with an incarcerated parent is “staggering” – currently well over 2 million nationwide – yet the phenomenon has received too little attention from the research community.
