Evan Mandery is the chairperson of the department of criminal justice and an expert on the death penalty.  In 2013, W.W. Norton published A Wild Justice: The Death and Resurrection of Capital Punishment in America, his behind-the-scenes history of the seminal capital cases Furman v. Georgia and Gregg v. Georgia. The book was a New York Times Book Review Editor's Pick and received starred reviews in Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus, and the Library JournalA former capital litigator, Prof. Mandery is the author of fifteen law review articles on the subject and a textbook currently in its second edition.  He is also an active fiction writer and has published three novels including, most recently, Q, which was published in 2011 by HarperCollins.
