Virginia Diaz-Mendoza completed her undergraduate studies at Lehman College (CUNY) and continued on to receive a Master’s of Art in Psychology from City College (CUNY). She is a licensed mental health counselor and her interests include student learning and development as well as organizational effectiveness.  Virginia is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) and is a member of the American Society for Public Administrators. Virginia Diaz-Mendoza has also served as a long standing member of the John Jay Faculty Senate and College Council where she promotes justice and equity in educational governance.

As a part of the Counseling Faculty in the SEEK Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Virginia is committed to serving under-represented students as they move toward successfully obtaining a college degree. She diligently serves as the faculty advisor for the Alpha Xi and Alpha Xi Omega chapters of Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society. Virginia Diaz-Mendoza is dedicated to promoting civic engagement, effective leadership development and academic as well as professional achievement in diverse student groups.
