ESTIMATED ANNUAL FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

UNDERGRADUATE

Below you will find estimated annual expenses at John Jay College for undergraduate students.

This school estimates the undergraduate student's average annual costs to be:

a. Tuition and fees     $8,920.00*

b. Living expenses    $17,613.00**

    Total                       $26,533.00***

For each sponsor, a signed affidavit of cash support, a bank statement(s) indicating at least the amount promised for 1 year, and proof of income are required.

*Tuition and fees for undergraduate students are based on 2 (12 credit) semesters. Summer tuition is not included.

**If you are receiving free room and board from a sponsor and have a signed affidavit of free room and board, $9,250.00 can be deducted from the total amount of cash support. In addition, the sponsor must provide proof of income and a copy of a lease, deed, rent receipts or mortgage payments.

***If you are going to be accompanied by a spouse or child, you must show additional evidence of financial capability to cover their annual expenses in the following amount: $4,000.00 annually for your spouse; $3,000.00 for each child.

Living expenses consist of books and supplies, transportation, housing (the estimated housing cost included in the cost of living expenses is based on shared housing), food, and personal. This is a modest “no extras” budget. It does not include such items as telephone calls, for example. It is highly recommended that you bring at least 10% more. In addition, expect annual increases of approximately 10% in expenses.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PAY OUT-OF-STATE TUITION. THE COLLEGE PERIODICALLY UPDATES THE SYSTEM TO ENSURE THAT THIS RATE IS APPLIED AND WILL MAKE CHANGES IF NECESSARY. IN ADDITION, TUITION RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME.
